Hole 1: Ashton Away
Dog leg right with the best position slightly right of centre. Beware the trees on the right. Cut the corner at your peril.
![]()
Hole 2: Pennine
A drive left of the bunker should leave a wood for your second shot. Lesser hitters will need only a short iron pitch in for their third.
![]()
Hole 3: Bailrigg View
A drive left side of fairway should leave a mid to long iron in to the left side of the green.
![]()
Hole 4: Woodside
An accurate mid iron shot is needed to this heavily bunkered green. A wayward tee shot will be severely punished.
![]()
Hole 5: Trough
A good drive to the right side of the fairway will leave only a short iron in. Trouble front and back.
![]()
Hole 6: Bluebells
Another par 3 that needs an accurate tee shot usually a mid iron. Miss the green and you're likely to be playing your second from sand.
![]()
Hole 7: Heron's Wood
Keep your drive left side of the fairway as the ball will roll to the right. This should leave only a short iron in.
![]()
Hole 8: Clougha
Keep the drive right side of the fairway to allow for the roll, then a medium iron in to a heavily bunkered green.
![]()
Hole 9: St Leger
A 3 wood or long iron played over the marker post should leave a long iron in to a tricky green.
![]()
Hole 10: The Beck
A drive left of centre will leave a better second shot, probably a medium iron into the green.
![]()
Hole 11: Glasson View
A drive left of centre will open up the green for your second which is likely to be a wood or long iron.
![]()
Hole 12: Lune Estuary
Place your drive right of centre to leave yourself a medium iron in. All the trouble is at the front of the green.
![]()
Hole 13: Deer Water
Another tricky par 3 which should play only a short iron but, with the bunkers and water at the back, should not be taken lightly.
![]()
Hole 14: Lakeland Hills
A good drive is needed, played down the right, will still leave a wood or long iron in. A short iron for the lesser hitters should get you close to the pin.
![]()
Hole 15: Old Railway
Keep your drive left side of the fairway to allow for a medium iron in to the green.
![]()
Hole 16: The Lake
Aim your drive at the marker post, your second should only be a short iron. Big hitters can get close here.
![]()
Hole 17: Braid's Best
A drive as central as possible will leave a long iron or fairway wood into a green heavily bunkered at the front.
![]()
Hole 18: Ashton Home
One of the best par 3's to be found anywhere in the country. Should play a medium to long iron. No prizes for being short.
